In their recent May 17th, 2022 Council meeting, City Council enacted a National Gun Violence Awareness Day proclamation, declaring the first Friday in June, June 3, 2022, to be National Gun Violence Awareness Day, encouraging all residents to support their local communities’ efforts to prevent the tragic effects of gun violence and to honor and value human lives.
Our city now mourns for the Uvalde community and for the lives lost and impacted by this unforgettable tragedy, a tragedy that shakes every one of us as Americans to our core.
