These projects provided safety improvements at various locations throughout the City. Improvements included: signage, channelization improvements, pedestrian crossings, intersection signal timing, and equipment enhancements (such as countdown pedestrian signals, and all-way stop flashing beacons).
The projects were federally-funded with two separate grants, which were tied together into a single construction contract. The Contractor on the project was Civil Construction Services, Inc. (CCS, Inc.) of Lynden, Washington.
Civil Construction Services, Inc. began in March 2016 and finished up in late July.
