Financial Assistance
If you are a low-income senior or low-income disabled customer, you may qualify for a discount on your Recology bill.
To qualify for the low-income senior discount, you must meet the following requirements:
- Applicant must be 61 years or older as of December 31 of the qualifying year. Any of the following can be used as proof of age:
- Birth certificate
- Driver's license
- Washington State identification card
- Social Security statement
- Applicants must provide proof of residency. Acceptable documents would include the following:
- Current copy of electric or natural gas utility bill
- Driver's license
- Washington State identification card
- Annual income must not exceed the amount specified. See application for rate.
If you meet the requirements, you may apply for the discount in one of the following ways:
- Complete the Low Income Senior Discount Application; or
- Contact us at sustainability@bothellwa.gov or 425-471-0571 to have an application mailed to you.
Once completed, please return the application to the Customer Service counter in City Hall. In addition to the completed application, you will need to bring a picture ID, and provide verification materials as requested in the application.

- Social Security Disability Insurance Letter
- Proof of Disability Form completed by physician
- Proof of residency would include the following:

If you meet the requirements, you may apply for the discount in one of the following ways:
- Complete the Low Income Disabled Discount Application; or
- Contact us at sustainability@bothellwa.gov or 425-471-0571 to have an application mailed to you.
