The eastern portion of the park consists of somewhat steep, unstable slopes. Sediment from these hillsides erode during most storm events and overwhelm the existing storm water pond, which results in sediment discharging into the Sammamish River. High levels of sediment in rivers impacts water quality and fish populations.
This project will provide increased sediment storage and repair structural deficiencies in the downstream piped conveyance system that will reduce the sediment discharge into the river.
