2022 Grand Marshal

George A. Ahearn R.N, B.S.N., EMHAGeorge A. Ahearn R.N, B.S.N., EMHA

We are honored to announce this year’s Fourth of July Parade Grand Marshal, George Ahearn. George, a Bothell resident, owns and operates West Infusion Nurses’ Network LLC (WINNfusion), Evergreen Karate in downtown Bothell, and is the Board President and Founder of EastWest Food Rescue.

Since the age of nine, George knew he wanted to be a Registered Nurse. Growing up in Eastern Washington, he found there to be a lack of access in rural areas to healthcare. George founded WINNfusion with the idea that everybody deserves access to quality healthcare and should not be forced to drive for hours to receive an infusion of medication. WINNfusion’s primary focus is helping clients who have autoimmune and genetic disorders.

It was George’s Bothell Community Facebook post of April 29, 2020 - "Wasted Food!" - that inspired the EastWest Food Rescue. Like many, George was frustrated when national stories broke about farmers needing to destroy crops during the pandemic; knowing COVID had magnified the calamity of food insecurity. Having a connection to the farming community in Eastern Washington, he set out to look for 2,000 pounds of food. In the first 15 days of operation, EWFR rescued 217 tons of food and delivered it to Western Washington communities. To date, the EWFR team has moved over 54 million pounds.

EastWest Food Rescue acquires or purchases surplus food predominantly from farmers and distributes it with empathy to people in need. To learn more about EastWest Food Rescue and how you can help, visit: eastwestfoodrescue.org

George’s commitment to community is one of many reasons that we are thrilled to recognize him as this year’s Fourth of July Parade Grand Marshal.
